About Our Classes

As you can see from our students’ reviews, we pride ourselves on creating a structured friendly learning environment. Our classes are kept to a small number of students in an open proximity so they can learn from watching others learning the same techniques at the same time as others, because the more often you see a process the faster you will become good at it. At intervals both annual and biannual we review the processes we teach our students to see if we can make them easier, quicker and less expensive. O

As you can see from our students’ reviews, we focus on making a friendly, well-organized place to learn. We keep our classes small, with just a few students working close together in the same room. This way, everyone can watch each other practice the same skills at the same time. The more you see a technique being done, the quicker you get really good at it yourself.Every year or every other year, we go back and look at the steps we teach. We ask: Can we make them simpler, faster, or cheaper? Over time, this has helped our students go home and start making things they can actually sell right away.Most of our classes are only 2 days long. Once you really learn the skills we teach, making similar items at home usually takes less than 2 hours!

Based on the beautiful Saunders Lake near the beach city of North Bend, Oregon, Dave’s in-person retreats, and online video courses have helped hobbyists launch side businesses and retirees discover a rewarding creative outlet. All techniques taught are the exact methods Dave uses in his own studio.

David Smith, a metal worker with over 55 years of experience, has been selling jewelry and providing jewelry creation instruction for the past 15 years. David is also a member of the Society of American Silversmiths.

As a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer with Plus Internet Certification he has been designing, publishing and maintaining websites since 1996. As a true specialist in internet technologies he developed the first on-line store creation tools on the Internet.

He founded AdvantageNet, Embryo, Appsynthesis, Digital Nervous Systems, Beads Amore’ and silversmithingclass.com/. David created the world’s first online 3D Internet store and has placed online over 6000 products online.
